PATIO SEASON STARTS! Kawartha Ecological Growers Farmers Market - Alternate Thursdays until early June 2011
The second year of the KEG Winter Farmers Market is in full swing, and they're stopping by The Céilí Cottage from 4-7pm every fortnight until early June.
What’s available locally in the winter you’re wondering? Here’s a sample of what you might see: parsnips, carrots, squashes, beets, potatoes, celeriac, sprouts, kale, baby greens, microgreens, frozen fruit, dried beans, canned beans, canned tomatoes and more…and don’t forget about the usual ‘extras’ you’ve grown to love – ethically-raised meats (pork, lamb, beef, chicken, goat and duck), jams, jellies, pickles, sauces, honey, maple, flour, etc. are around all winter too!
